Let’s Go to the Zoo (Grey Held)

The motif of this picture-poem was inspired by old circus posters. The poem, which I wrote, is a tribute to elephants, who are such intelligent creatures with amazing abilities to communicate with each other through low rumbles or foot stomps that can travel as far as six miles. And what's so surprising is the elephant receiving the call picks it up through its feet. And as for the last line—“They never confuse what is with what if”—it’s a skill I aspire to.
